What Is the Maximum Daily Loss?

Understanding the Maximum Daily Loss Rule

Written by Key stone

The Maximum Daily Loss is the maximum amount your account is allowed to lose during a single trading day before it is considered to have breached the program rules.

For the Two Step Evaluation, the Maximum Daily Loss is 5% of your initial account balance.

This limit includes both:

  • Realized losses (closed trades)

  • Unrealized losses (floating/open positions)

The Maximum Daily Loss is calculated on your account equity and must not be exceeded at any time during the trading day.

Example

If you purchase a $100,000 Two Step Evaluation, your maximum daily loss is $5,000.

This means your account equity—including open positions—must never fall below $95,000 during the trading day.

Exceeding the Maximum Daily Loss limit will result in an immediate breach of your evaluation account.

We encourage all traders to monitor their daily risk carefully and apply responsible risk management to remain within the program's daily loss limits.
